Harry Potter Party-Part 1 Costume

For a while now I have been toying with the idea of having a Harry Potter party and have everything from Butter beer to chocolate frogs to acid pop jello shots. I have been gathering all my ideas and I think i finally have enough to have an awesome party.


I have made a DIY  Luna Lovegood costume that includes everything from Radish earings to spectrespecs.

Here is what I have so far... A wand, spectrespecs, Quibbler issue and radish earings. 

This is where i found the tutorial for the  radish earrings. I put a coat of high gloss modge podge on the outside to make them shiny.

I googled spectrespecs and found this picture which I printed and cut out. I then i put glitter glue around the lenses and glued blue and red cellophane in each lens. 

Emmie was extra helpful in the creation of the wand. On our walk yesterday he refused to put down a stick and he carried all the way home when he decided that the planet dog ball was much more interesting (the ONLY toy that has lasted more than an hour! I love this toy's durability because buying new toys every week gets expensive) .

After emmie gave me the stick, I stripped off the bark and sanded down the  stick until it was smooth then I stained it. I plan on adding some more detail and staining the wood dark.
